What we are hired to move

Five kinds of work. Most jobs are one of them; some are three at once, which is fine — the quote covers the whole move, not the easy leg of it.

02.1 Heavy haul, permitted Core

Oversize & overweight

Anything over 8'6" wide, 13'6" high, or 80,000 lb gross is a permit load, and the permit is where most of the work lives. We pull single-trip permits state by state, book pilot cars against each state's escort thresholds, and plan around travel windows, curfews and the holidays when oversize movement stops entirely.

Superloads — the ones heavy enough or wide enough to need engineering review and a route survey — take longer to set up and we will tell you that before you plan around a date.

02.2 By job type Detail

Machinery moving

Construction & ag equipment

Excavators, dozers, scrapers, cranes, combines and pickers. Loaded on RGN so the deck sits low and the height stays inside the permit that costs less. Dealer deliveries, auction pickups, and moves between job sites.

Project cargo

Single-piece industrial

Transformers, pressure vessels, tanks, presses, gensets, mill equipment. These are the moves where the crane at each end, the rigging plan and the delivery window matter as much as the trailer, so we plan all three together.

Structural

Steel, precast, modular

Bridge girders, roof trusses, precast panels, tanks and modular building sections. Long-load rules, rear overhang limits and escort thresholds drive the route more than weight does.

Flatbed & step deck

Legal-dimension freight

Not everything needs a permit. Coil, lumber, pipe, palletized and crated freight on flatbed or step deck, tarped when it needs to be. Often the backhaul that keeps a heavy-haul rate reasonable.

Plant relocation

Multi-load moves

A production line does not move in one trailer. We sequence the loads so the equipment lands in the order the millwrights need it, and we keep one point of contact across the whole move.

Route survey

Before you commit to a date

For tall, wide or very heavy pieces we physically check the route: overhead clearances, bridge ratings, turn radii, utility lines and construction. It costs a day. It saves the week that a load stuck at an overpass costs.

02.3 What a quote includes Scope

The number we give you is the number

A heavy haul rate that leaves out permits and escorts is not a rate, it is an opening bid.

Every quote states plainly what is inside it and what is not, so you can compare it against anyone else's honestly.

  • IncludedLine haul, state permits, escort and pilot car coordination, securement, tarping where required, and fuel.
  • Quoted separatelyRoute surveys, police escorts where a state requires them, bucket trucks for utility lifts, and crane service at either end.
  • Never a surpriseIf a state permit office reroutes us or a survey turns up a clearance problem, you hear about it the day we do — before the cost changes.
